Sustainable Holiday Gift Ideas

If you’re anything like me, you love putting a smile on someone’s face with a little thoughtful (and of course, sustainable) gift. ☺️

And while the holidays are notoriously a wasteful time of the year, I believe in making them as sustainable as possible through thoughtful gifts and a mindful approach.

So here are some of my favorite items I use on the daily, have gifted, or received as gifts.

For The Travel Bug

Plastic-Free, Compostable Lip Balms - The perfect stocking stuffer + travel necessity in my opinion!

On-The-Go Water Filter - Instead of a plastic water bottle, use this to purify your water anywhere & everywhere. Just pop it into your water and voila!

Collapsible Travel Cup - I’m not a coffee drinker but I love my hot lemon water in the morning & this mug makes that so easy, especially when traveling!

Soap Saver - Made from natural agave fibers, this little pouch is perfect for traveling with shampoo + conditioner bars!

Zero Waste Shampoo + Conditioner Bars - Like I said, these are a perfect little gift paired with a Soap Saver pouch. (Plus, did I mention they have a seasonal Mistletoe scent!!)

For The Wellness Connoisseur

Gua Sha - A facial massaging tool that firms + lifts and is the perfect addition to any skincare routine.

Dry Body Brush - Made from natural sisal fiber, this body brush promotes lymphatic drainage and exfoliation.

Konjac Facial Sponge - A gentle skin exfoliator that feels like a cushy gel-like pillow. Made from sustainably farmed konjac plant that’s totally compostable.

Sea To Skin Cleansing Gel - Inspired by the sea, this cleansing gel is SO dreamy. I’ve gifted it to friends & family over the years and everyone has had glowing reviews!

Reusable Eye Mask - Gone are the days of those single use eye masks! This one lasts forever and is the perfect little self care promoting gift.

For The Homebody

Candle Refill Kit - This kit makes sustainable candle giving so SIMPLE. Seriously, I can’t get over how easy & minimal they made the process! (Use code HANNAHT15 for 15% off!)

Rechargeable Lighter - I’ve had this lighter for a couple years now and I love that it’s rechargeable, minimal, and way cuter than a throwaway lighter. Pairs perfectly with a candle refill kit.

Window Solar Charger - A minimalistic solar panel that charges your devices with the power of the sun!

Bidet - Give the gift of a clean butt, all while helping someone save $ and the planet! (Plus, you’ll likely give them a good laugh if this is an unexpected gift!)

For The Changemaker

Art Prints - I recently launched my print collection (!!!) and if you ask me, they’re the perfect gift! Plus, every print sold supports a beach cleanup!

Cleanup Kit - If you know me, you know I love a good cleanup! So gift this to someone and promise them a cleanup + picnic when spring returns.

A Good Book - This book is great for anyone looking to dig into the climate crisis and make a difference in their own unique way.

For The Busy Bee

Bala Weighted Bands - Because self care is necessary when it comes to saving the planet, especially when you’re a busy bee! These make a long walk or a quick workout super efficient & extra fun.

Plastic-Free Mouthwash - Basic mouthwash is full of crappy ingredients and plastic packaging. Instead, gift this fun little tin of zero waste mouthwash tabs!

Compostable Phone Case - I’ve used a Pela phone case for as long as I can remember. I love that it’s totally compostable and has a nice grip from the lil plant-based fibers.

For The Foodie

Food Huggers - I use these on a daily basis. They work great for lemons, tomatoes, bananas, and just about any other round lil fruit or veggie!

Climate-Friendly Crackers - Pair these with a yummy artisanal vegan cheese and a bottle of something bubbly. I didn’t know I could love a cracker so much!

Candy Made From Food Waste - Need I say more? I’m a big sour candy fan, and these are way better for the planet + your health.

Reusable Snack Bag - Another item I use on the daily. I love my Stasher bags and the person you’re gifting will too!

Zero Waste Trail Mix - The perfect mix of salty & sweet and my favorite trail mix to date! They even sell compostable refill pouches which is SO cool.

Reusable Spork - Because eating good to-go food with a plastic fork is so not cute.

P.S. Don’t forget to support your local zero waste shops, earth-friendly businesses, BIPOC-owned businesses, and artists this year! (Majority of what are listed above!) 💚
